Planning a route
List the stops in order with a rough time at each, and say whether the vehicle should wait at each stop or drop off and return. Lunch, toilet breaks and time to walk between places all add up, so a realistic plan helps the operator quote the whole day. Tell us if the group would like the driver to suggest a route.
Long days and trips away
A trip to the snow or a weekend away can mean a long day behind the wheel. In the states that apply the Heavy Vehicle National Law, its fatigue laws cover buses with a gross vehicle mass over 4.5 tonnes fitted to carry more than 12 adults, including the driver (National Heavy Vehicle Regulator), and Western Australia sets its own rules, so ask how the driver's hours are planned and whether the driver needs accommodation overnight.
Wineries and venues
Ask each venue where a bus or coach can park and whether it needs to know you are coming. Then send a request.
Tours and Day Trips by Charter Bus: questions
Does the driver act as a tour guide?
Some do and some do not. Say in your request if you would like commentary.
Can we travel interstate?
Yes. Ask how the operator is accredited in each state the trip passes through.
