Planning wedding transport
Most wedding charters are one of three trips: guests from a hotel or a meeting point to the ceremony, everyone from the ceremony to the reception, and a late run home at the end of the night. Some couples book all three, others only the last. List each run in your request with its pickup, destination and rough time, and say how many guests travel on each, because the numbers often change between the ceremony and the last dance.
Venues in the country
Wineries, farms and coastal venues are popular and often a long way from where guests are staying. Ask the venue where a bus or coach can stop and turn, whether the access road suits a large vehicle and where the driver can wait. Pass those answers on to the operator so it can suggest the right size of vehicle.
What to ask before you book
Ask how the operator is accredited in your state, whether every seat has a seatbelt, how waiting time between runs is charged and what happens if the reception runs late. Get the times and the cancellation terms in writing. Then send a request.
Wedding Bus and Coach Hire: questions
Can the bus wait during the reception?
Many operators can wait or come back for a later run. Tell us the times and the operator will explain the options.
How far ahead should we book?
Spring and summer Saturdays are busy, so send a request as soon as you know the date and the venues.
